Executive Team

Board President

The President is the principal representative and spokesperson for the association.

They ensure that the Executive Committee and Board of Directors’ functions properly, that there is full participation at meetings, all relevant matters are discussed and that effective decisions are made and carried out.

The President will carry out a term of 2 years and shall not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position.
Qualifications:

Must be a Head Start Staff from a program that is a current AZHSA Member

Shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a person of experience and good reputation in the community who will actively support the Association’s goals and objectives and who is willing to contribute their time and effort to achieve such goals and objectives
Board Secretary

The Secretary ensures that the ExecutiveTeam and Board of Directors’ functions properly by recording meeting minutes, encouraging full participation during meetings, all relevant matters are discussed and that effective decisions are made and executed.

The Secretary will carry out a term of 2 years and shall not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position.

Must be a Head Start Staff from a program that is a current AZHSA Member

Shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a person of experience and good reputation in the community who will actively support the Association’s goals and objectives and who is willing to contribute their time and effort to achieve such goals and objectives
Board Treasurer

The Treasurer ensures that the association functions properly with all fiscal manners.

The Treasurer will carry out a term of 2 years and shall not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position

General Board

Grantee Director

Grantee Elected Directors shall be either the Head Start Director or another executive from the Head Start Grantee.

Grantee Elected Directors shall be and individual who support the Association’s mission.

Shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a person of experience and good reputation in the community who will actively support the Association’s goals and objectives and who is willing to contribute their time and effort to achieve such goals and objectives
Parent Director
Head Start Parent Directors shall be and individual who support the Association’s mission.
Qualifications: ​

Parents of children enrolled in a Head Start program at the beginning of their term and be part of the Grantee Member in good standing.

A person of experience and good reputation in the community who will actively support the Association’s goals and objectives and who is willing to contribute their time and effort to achieve such goals and objectives
At Large Director

At Large Director shall be individuals who support the Association’s mission.
Qualifications: ​​

Individual can not be a Head Start staff or parent. Only community members.

Shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a person of experience and good reputation in the community who will actively support the Association’s goals and objectives and who is willing to contribute their time and effort to achieve such goals and objectives
