Parent Advocacy Group

Organized by the Arizona Head Start Association, the Parent Advocacy Group is Arizona's unified voice of Head Start programs across the state. Parent Advocates are any parent in the state of Arizona with a child ages 0-5 and or current or former Head Start parent volunteers who are interested and committed to advocating for the education of their children.

It is important for Arizona to have a Parent Advocacy Group because it allows key legislators to hear personal stories of families benefiting from Head Start programs and the needs of early childhood in our state. Parents learn about state legislation, how to contact their district's representatives and receive trainings from community agencies in leadership and advocating. Parents will be able to use these skills to become leaders in their Head Start program and community.
